International Conference on: The Opportunities and Challenges of China's Economy and Financial Markets

The Chinese economy has been experiencing rapid growth since China embarked on the process of opening-up and reforms. Today, China has become the second largest economy in the world and its financial market changed significantly during the last 40 years. However, the recent China-US trade tensionscause great uncertaintyforthe strong economic growth in China due to theirpotential impact on financial markets, international trade and other key sectors.Hence, it is important to understand the challenges as well as opportunities of China’s economyand financial markets on the current state. With this background, the School of Finance atJiangxi University of Finance and Economics,and Adam Smith Business School atUniversity of Glasgowwill holdthis international conference on China's economy and financial markets. Scholars from all over the world are invited to submit their research on the opportunities and challenges of China's economy and financial marketsas well as their impact onthe international financial markets to this conference. Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special section of a regular issueof Economic Modelling. Both theoretical and empirical papers related to the theme of the conference are welcome. Topics considered include but not limited to the following: Corporate Finance Chinese Economy Development Economics Economic Modelling Financial Risk Management Fintech and Innovation

In the first stage, participants are invited to submit their full completed papers to Dr. Shaojie Lai atshaojielai@jxufe.edu.cnbefore the deadline as indicated below and the conference committee will screen and evaluate all the submissions. In the second stage, authors of selected papers will be invited to submit their papers to Economic Modelling to go through the journal’s review process. The standard submission fee applies. Conference Important Dates: Submission Deadline: November 20, 2019 Decision Notification: December 10, 2019 Registration Deadline: December 20, 2019 Conference: January 9, 2020 Fee: Conference registration rate is 1,500 RMB for domestic scholars and 200 USD for international scholars, including tea break, conference lunch and dinner. The conference is jointly organized by the School of Finance of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and Adam Smith Business School of University of Glasgow.
